Tony Levin & Pete Levin: MoonJune Booking announces LEVIN BROTHERS March 2015 Tour
UK-based band Maybeshewill to see US album release on Superball Music

UK-based
band Maybeshewill to see US album release on Superball Music! North American
tour to follow
|
Leicester's Maybeshewill have
been plying their unique brand of instrumental post-rock since 2005. With a
handful of album, single and EP releases to their credit, and a variety of
successful touring jaunts throughout Europe and Asia, the band hasn't yet had
an album released in the US. That will change with the February 24th
release of their fourth full-length, Fair Youth. This is the band's
first album in partnership with Superball
Music (home also to Amplifier, And You Will Know Us By the
Trail of Dead and Matt Skiba, among others).
The band's video for "In Amber"
can be viewed here:
Fair Youth is an overwhelmingly
positive record, with the band creating a musical solution to dealing with
real world problems and difficulties. It touches on themes of nostalgia and
oneirism, and the connections, disconnection and constant feeling of motion
that comes with spending so many months of the year on the road.
Band
guitarist/keyboardist Jamie
Ward took the production helm once again, and this time Maybeshewill
vastly expands the pallet of sounds and instruments at their disposal. By
working with live instrumentation wherever possible, but also augmenting the
real with electronic flourishes, it is simultaneously the most and least
organic Maybeshewill record to date.
Fair Youth has been
shaped largely by influences from outside the musical world they exist in -
from washes of hazy Shoegaze guitars to glitchy Electronica; chopped and
screwed Hip-Hop beats to ornate Chamber Pop orchestration, as well as
countless other threads coming together. It's the band re-imagined as a
larger ensemble - a hundred year old grand piano, string and brass sections,
an enormous old drum kit, glockenspiels, vibraphones and a sea of guitars -
while still remaining a cohesive whole.
Autumn of 2015 will
mark Maybeshewill's live debut in North America, with dates to be announced
at a future point in time.

The Tangent announce release of 'A Spark In The Aether - The Music That Died Alone Volume Two'

The
Tangent announce release of
'A
Spark In The Aether - The Music That Died Alone Volume Two'
|
![]()
InsideOutMusic
is pleased to announce that The
Tangent will release their eighth studio album 'A Spark In The Aether - The Music
That Died Alone Volume Two' on 20th April 2015 in Europe
and 21st April 2015 in the US. The band, led by multi-instrumentalist Andy
Tillison, is made up of Jonas Reingold (Bass), Theo Travis (Sax & Flute),
Luke Machin (Guitar) & Morgan Ã…gren (Drums).
Andy
Tillison had this to say: "After
all the different things we've done, this time it seemed right to come back
to our prog roots and "stock in trade". At the same time we wanted
to go somewhere new too, so we travelled to America in our Imaginations. We
all hope you'll join us!"
Twelve
years, eight studio albums, two live DVDs and tours that have taken them from
Moscow to Quebec. Now one of the most enduring third wave progressive rock
bands on the scene returns - a band that has never made an album using the
same personnel as the previous album. In fact, the same line-up has (to date)
never been used twice.
But
there are regulars. And some of the favourite regulars are back for the 8th
album: Flower Kings bass legend Jonas Reingold; the ever-faithful and gifted
Theo Travis, familiar to many from his work with the Steven Wilson band, Gong
and Robert Fripp, with his arsenal of wind textures from saxophones to
flutes; and the return to the fold of the amazingly talented Luke Machin, a
guitar hero for a new generation who can even wow the old generations (and
who also fronts his own band, Maschine). And of course there's band leader
Andy Tillison (keyboards and vocals), the only member of the band to have
played on all the records.
This
team is joined by Morgan Ã…gren, Swedish drumming phenomenon who can even
count Frank Zappa among his previous jobs (others include, but not limited
to, Kaipa, Devin Townsend, and his own acclaimed Mats/Morgan Band). Morgan
introduces to The Tangent a real live energy full of inspiration and
eccentricity.
The
new album is a Rock Album. It's a Prog album. It's a Funky album. It's a Pop
album. It's the Eighth Tangent album.

Last
year John Wesley
released his latest album Disconnect
to a brilliant reception, and he is pleased to announce he is now working on
its follow-up. He comments:
"I have begun sorting through ideas
and direction for the next album and have started the process of writing
pieces that will come together to form the basis for the album. I will be
using much of the same team that recorded the last album and hope to begin
actual tracking in the late spring early summer. Until then I will be doing
shows in and around Florida and hopefully start working some of the new ideas
out in the live set."
John has been receiving a lot of love in the end of year polls, being voted into Prog Magazine's Critics Choice Albums of the Year, as well as one of their top guitarists in the reader's poll.

John Hollenbeck's The Claudia Quintet to Tour Europe and Florida: February-March 2015
The Claudia
Quintet Winter Tour
John
Hollenbeck's The Claudia Quintet
to Tour Europe and Florida
February-March 2015

[L-R: Red Wierenga, Matt Moran, John Hollenbeck, Chris Speed, Drew Gress]
to Tour Europe and Florida
February-March 2015
[L-R: Red Wierenga, Matt Moran, John Hollenbeck, Chris Speed, Drew Gress]
Led by composer, drummer and three-time Grammy nominee John Hollenbeck, The Claudia Quintet have quietly but firmly and definitively recast jazz into shimmering new shapes inflected by classical minimalism, new music, progressive rock and post-rock. They are one of the most influential stylists on other musicians involved in cutting-edge jazz today. The Claudia Quintet have shaped the sound of what jazz is today, and what jazz can be.
"The buzz around this New York ensemble has grown to a roar over the last few years, which is a delicious irony given that The Claudia Quintet is often at its most affecting when playing sotto voce, as if content to whisper rather than bellow... Claudia is a jazz group questioning the divide between genres and points in time.” - Kevin Le Gendre, BBC Music

NEW TRAILER REVEALED FOR WORLD-RENOWNED GUITARIST/COMPOSER STEVE HACKETT'S FORTHCOMING SOLO ALBUM "WOLFLIGHT" DUE OUT IN NORTH AMERICA APRIL 7TH
NEW
TRAILER REVEALED FOR WORLD-RENOWNED GUITARIST/COMPOSER STEVE HACKETT'S
FORTHCOMING
SOLO ALBUM "WOLFLIGHT"
DUE
OUT IN NORTH AMERICA APRIL 7TH

(New York, NY) - On April 7th,
world-renowned guitarist/composer Steve Hackett will release his brand
new solo album, WOLFLIGHT, in North America via InsideOut Music. Click here to access the brand new trailer for WOLFLIGHT
featuring new music snippets and insight from Steve Hackett
himself. WOLFLIGHT is Steve's first original solo studio album since
BEYOND THE SHROUDED HORIZON in 2011. The album will be available in North
America in two physical configurations, as well as digitally. Fans will
have the option of purchasing WOLFLIGHT physically as a standard CD or as a
deluxe version with a CD plus BluRay digipak, which will feature two bonus
tracks.
The
concept behind WOLFLIGHT is a new, unexplored chapter in Hackett's
career. The tracks take the listener through a journey in space and time
looking at the different faces of the endless fight for freedom. Wandering
between parallel universes, Hackett explores contemporary and ancient
cultures, from Greece ("Corycian Fire") to the Far East
("Wolflight"), the United States and Martin Luther King ("Black
Thunder"), and also his very own childhood memories ("The Wheel's
Turning") and the unresolved drama of domestic violence ("Love Song
To A Vampire").
Steve
Hackett's electric guitar plays a powerful role, although we also hear him on
acoustic guitar, Arabian lute and twelve string, along with his strong lead
vocals. Guest musicians include long time collaborators Roger King
(keyboards & programming), Gary O'Toole (drums), Rob Townsend
(sax, duduk), Nick Beggs (bass & stick) and Amanda Lehmann
(harmony vocals). Malik Mansurov on tar and Sara Kovaks on didgeridoo add
an extra exotic element, plus YES bassist Chris Squire plays on "Love Song
To A Vampire" and Hugo Dagenhardt plays drums on "Dust and
Dreams". The innovative songwriting team includes Steve Hackett,
his wife Jo Hackett and Roger King.
