Dave Kerzner Releases Music Video For "The Lie"

July 8, 2015, Miami, Florida - Dave Kerzner, Progressive Rock solo artist and member of the bands Sound of Contact and Mantra Vega, has just released the second single from his album "New World" which is accompanied by a music video shot in Los Angeles earlier this year. Joining Dave in the video are album band mates Fernando Perdomo and Nick D'Virgilio (Spocks Beard, Big Big Train) as well as Sound of Contact band mate Matt Dorsey.

"We've shot a lot of music videos for the album that will be coming out throughout the year. I wanted to do them with as many of the people who played on my album as possible. In some cases, such as when Fernando has played both the guitar and bass on the album, Matt from SOC has come on board to fill in as a utility multi-instrumentalist both for the videos and forthcoming live performances." – Dave Kerzner

The video was premiered at 10 AM (UK Time) by Prog Magazine who are hosting the 2015 Progressive Music Awards for which Kerzner is nominated in the "Anthem Of The Year" category for his song "Stranded". It will be available to view on his YouTube Channel http://www.youtube.com/davekerzner

A 4 minute version of the song called "The Lie (Radio Edit)" has been released digitally on iTunes and other popular download sites this week. A 3 track single with both the "Radio Edit" and the full "Album Length Version" as well as a bonus track "Nexus (Early Version Demo)" is now available to download in high quality mp3 and FLAC format here: https://sonicelements.bandcamp.com/album/the-lie

"My roots are in Progressive Rock, but, I also listen to a lot of different music from classic 60s, 70s and 80s rook albums to modern Alt Rock and Ambient music." says Kerzner "A song like 'The Lie' is a hybrid of retro Prog and modern Alt Rock with a bit of Pop in it. I like a song that appeals to the musos but also wouldn't be out of place on mainstream rock radio. I discovered a lot of my favorite bands after hearing their most popular tunes first. I hope "The Lie" lures in people who don't normally listen to Progressive Rock. They may discover certain qualities they like in it that are on my album such as cinematic instrumental sections, grandiose production and virtuoso playing from the likes of Steve Hackett from Genesis, Keith Emerson of ELP and other special guests on my album 'New World'."

Dave Kerzner's album "New World" is available on CD and digital download from http://www.davekerzner.com and on iTunes, Amazon and other popular digital sites. It is also available around the world from select distributors and retailers.

RIVERSIDE - Launch new track "Discard Your Fear" via lyric-video

Polish Prog masters RIVERSIDE are now kicking off the promotional activities for their much anticipated new studio album "Love, Fear and the Time Machine", which will be released on September 4th, 2015 via InsideOutMusic.

Today, the band is revealing the first track off the album via a lyric-video.
Check out "Discard Your Fear" here:

RIVERSIDE's Mariusz Duda checked in about "Discard Your Fear" as follows:
"On the new album I wanted to combine the 70's and the 80's. The 80's were a decade of musical growing up for me. I remember being enchanted by music deep with bass, chorus and all kinds of reverb. 'Discard Your Fear' is a good example of this flow. The lyrics are about the most popular kind of fear that touches most of us - the fear of the unknown."

RIVERSIDE's 6th studio album features cover artwork by longtime design-partner Travis Smith / Seempieces (Katatonia, Opeth, Nevermore, etc.) and will contain the following track-listing:

RIVERSIDE - "Love, Fear and the Time Machine"
1. Lost (Why Should I Be Frightened By a Hat?)
2. Under the Pillow
3. #Addicted
4. Caterpillar and the Barbed Wire
5. Saturate Me
6. Afloat
7. Discard Your Fear
8. Towards the Blue Horizon
9. Time Travellers
10. Found (The Unexpected Flaw of Searching)

A musical package entitled "Day Session", the brighter companion of the "Night Session" presented on the band's previous album "Shrine of New Generation Slaves", will be available as bonus material well.

In other news, RIVERSIDE are kicking off a string of European dates this weekend at "Be Prog! My Friend" festival in Barcelona, Spain and also visit Italy, Germany, The Netherlands and the UK on this run, on which the band will already showcase some of the new album's material.

The music-based cruise, which sails from November 15-19, 2015, features renowned bands, ranging from legendary to neo-progressive rock acts. The progressive rock genre traces its roots to the early use of the Moog synthesizer, making the Foundation's role in this year's cruise a fitting tribute.

RIVERSIDE - Reveal artwork, track listing and street date for "Love, Fear and the Time Machine"!

Having just played a first post-studio live-show as part of the Metal Hammer Festival / Prog Edition in Kattowice, Poland, together with Dream Theater this past weekend, Polish prog masters RIVERSIDE are pleased to announce the first details for their much-anticipated upcoming studio album.

Entitled "Love, Fear and the Time Machine", the band's sixth studio album will be released via InsideOut Music on September 4th, 2015. It features cover artwork by longtime design-partner Travis Smith / Seempieces (Katatonia, Opeth, Nevermore, etc.) and contains the following track listing:

RIVERSIDE - "Love, Fear and the Time Machine"
1. Lost (Why Should I Be Frightened By a Hat?)

7. Discard Your Fear
8. Towards the Blue Horizon
9. Time Travellers
10. Found (The Unexpected Flaw of Searching)

RIVERSIDE's Mariusz Duda checked in with the following comment about "Love, Fear and the Time Machine":
"On the new album I wanted to combine the 70s and the 80s. The 80s were a decade of musical growing up for me. On the new album we don't sound as retro and 70s as before, we moved forward, we sort of demolished the previous foundations and build new ones. Despite the huge dose of melancholy and nostalgia, there is a new space, the songs are arranged with more flow and at the same time they have never been so concise and to the point before. The lyrics on "Love, Fear and the Time Machine" talk about a transformation. About making an important, perhaps life changing, decision everyone has to make at some point in their lives. What happens to us when we have to make it? On the one hand we're excited by the change, we feel free, liberated, and on the other we fear the unknown, we are afraid of what might happen to us. We go back in time and we go forward in time in our heads. And all that happens when we have to decide something important. The first of the songs on the album is called 'Lost', the last one, 'Found'. If we sometimes get lost in life, it is to go through something and be found again on the other side, to be reborn as someone better and more valuable. I would like this album to be one of those that one day simply becomes your best friend."

NEXT TO NONE debut "A Light in the Dark"
out today, June 29th!

The debut album by Next To None, "A Light in the Dark" is out today, June 29th on InsideOut Music. The album features 9 songs of intense Progressive metal with Max Portnoy on drums, Ryland Holland on guitar, Kris Rank on bass, and Thomas Cuce on keyboards and lead vocals.

The album is already receiving great reviews:

"It's not brilliant because of someone having a famous father. It's brilliant because it's just about the best Prog Metal album released so far this year, and on so many levels that is incredible."  Maximum Volume Music, 9.5/10

"If you want something to bang your head to, this is it." The Prog Report

The band just released a lyric video for the album's epic closer "Blood On My Hands."

Vocalist/keyboardist Thomas Cuce had this to say about the track:

"At the time [I wrote the lyrics] it seemed like every day there was a different person going crazy somewhere and shooting up a building or whatever, and I would ask my self 'Why does this keep happening? What was that person thinking? What led them to do this?' So I tried to put myself in this person's head. I created a character and started from the aftermath of the event, which is where we first hear about it in the news." Of the song's extended arrangement, he says, "It took us months to write this song and then months to learn it. We had a big dry erase board that we used to chart out all the parts with the time signatures until we had them memorized."

You can see the lyric video here:

New Project Featuring Pat Mastelotto, David Kollar, and Paolo Raineri

KoMaRa:
Boundary-Breaking, Cinematic Industrial Ethno-Rock From
King Crimson’s Pat Mastelotto and Renowned Avant-Experimentalists David Kollar and Paolo Raineri

KoMaRa’s self-titled debut album is based on a dark, deviant and explicit detective story. It reflects the mysterious circumstances of an abduction and the ultimate demise of the abductee. It’s a NSFW, Rated-R release designed for the open-minded and brave. Unnerving, haunting artwork by Tool’s Adam Jones further underlines the album’s provocative vibe.

The recording is predominantly instrumental, but includes occasional vocals by Raineri, Leashya and Bill Munyon. Equally menacing, incendiary and vulnerable, they serve as interludes to either break or create moods and tension throughout. The album also has moments of light and hope, told through short trumpet vignettes by Raineri.

KoMaRa came together through social media, with Kollar reaching out to Mastelotto on Facebook about potential gigs and recordings. Everyone was mutually intrigued and met up in Slovakia, where Kollar is based, in November 2014. The trio played gigs across myriad Slavic countries to enthusiastic, open-minded audiences. The group then went on to record in Prague, capturing three long improvisations that formed the basis of the pieces on KoMaRa’s debut album. Acclaimed engineers Bill Munyon and Adrian Benevides also contributed to faithfully reflecting the release’s mercurial approach.

“For me, KoMaRa is the epitome of my belief that great records are like movies,” said Mastelotto. “The best musicians don’t need scripts because they understand the movie is always evolving. That’s the beauty of music, too. It inspires its own script and cinematography in every listener’s head.”

Pat Mastelotto is one of the world’s most celebrated drummers. He has been a member of every King Crimson lineup from 1994 to the present. In addition, he’s one third of Stick Men, a trio with Tony Levin and Markus Reuter. Mastelotto has also collaborated with Steven Wilson, Terry Bozzio, Trey Gunn, Allan Holdsworth, John Paul Jones, and Kimmo Pohjonen.

Slovakian guitarist and composer David Kollar has released nine expansive albums, scored 18 films and worked on many multimedia projects. His last recording, 2013’s The Son, an atmospheric, emotionally-charged effort, received accolades from Guitar Moderne, France’s A Decovrir Absolument, and the Czech and Slovak Radio Head awards. He’s also worked with Eivind Aarset, Gergo Borlai, Bjorn Charles Dreyer and Lenka Dusilová.
Trumpeter Paolo Raineri takes his instrument and processes it in real-time to create ethereal, otherworldly sounds. The Italian musician combines Scandinavian nu-jazz influences with psychedelic rock, experimental and free improvisation in his award-winning Junkfood 4tet. In addition, he’s performed with Stefano Battaglia, Berserk!, The Blessed Beat, Baustelle, Calibro 35, Nada, and Enrico Gabrielli.
