February News Bytes

  • Mariusz Duda is currently writing the material for the second album of his project Lunatic Soul. This time it will be the "white album". The recording of the album is planned for February and March and the expected release date is autumn 2010.   • http://rushisaband.com/ is reporting a big rumor: that RUSH will be performing at the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Vancouver next Friday, February 12th. The word is that they'll be playing a version of 'YYZ' as part of a larger performance showcasing Canadian music. The opening ceremony will air on NBC beginning at 7:30PM EST on Friday, February 12th. There's been no official confirmation of this or of who any of the performers will be; the organizers are being very tight-lipped about the whole affair.

  • Fates Warning may be reuniting with the classic Parallels-era line-up: Ray Alder, Jim Matheos, Frank Aresti, Joe DiBiase and Mark Zonder - performing songs from Parallels and much more on Friday, March 19, at the Avalon, in Hollywood, CA
  • Anglagard's 1994 classic Hybris is to be re-released in March. News to come on http://anglagard.net/
  • Italian band The Watch will release their new disc Planet Earth on February 20th.
  • Nick Magnus is releasing a new disc titled "Children Of Another God". Like the previous album "Hexameron", this release will feature contributions by vocalists Pete Hicks, Tony Patterson, Steve Hackett, and John Hackett among others.
