United Progressive Fraternity launch lyric video for 'Intersection'

United Progressive Fraternity launch lyric video for 'Intersection'

United Progressive Fraternity are set to release their debut album 'Fall In Love With The World' on November 25th, 2014 in North America. The band can now reveal a lyric video for the track 'Intersection', and you can you check that out here:

Band leader Mark Trueack had this to say about the track:

"It was back in late 2013 when Sean and I were working on the concept for "Turn Left" which was to be the next album for Unitopia, and where this track was born. The original idea was tell the story of direction and understanding the decisions that we must take in a world that is confused, always asking ourselves if we are on the right path. As always in life there is something standing in the way and from that we must learn to overcome the problems we face. The original arrangement had a heavy ELP/Moraz-type piano but I felt it was too cliché and not original to the sound that we were looking for. Matt and Marek soon came up with a brilliant duet for this section which enhanced the piece and gave it its own originality. "Intersection" is a musical journey of hope and vision."

The release will arrive as a jewel case (incl. an additional bonus track) & digital download, and the full track-listing can be found below:

1. We Only Get One World (Overture)
2. Choices
3. Intersection
4. The Water
5. Don't Look Back - Turn Left
6. Travelling Man (The Story Of ESHU)
7. Fall In Love With The World
8. Religion Of War

You can check out a video for the track 'The Water' featuring Jon Anderson (Yes) here: http://youtu.be/Fz2nYmeG7R0

Formed from the ashes of respected Australian progressive rockers Unitopia, the band sees Matt Williams, Dave Hopgood, Tim Irrgang & Mark 'Truey' Trueack joined by Guy Manning (Manning, The The Tangent), Daniel Mash (Maschine, The Tangent), & Marek Arnold (Toxic Smile, Seven Steps to the Green Door, Cyril, Flaming Row). The forthcoming album also features guest appearances from Jon Anderson of Yes, as well as Steve Hackett of Genesis.

Pain of Salvation - Debut video clip for "1979" off acoustic album "Falling Home"

Pain of Salvation - Debut video clip for "1979" off acoustic album "Falling Home"

The release date for the much anticipated acoustic album "Falling Home" by Swedish progressive rock innovators Pain of Salvation via the band's longtime label partner InsideOutMusic is drawing closer.
Here are the exact street days by territory:

GERMANY / AUSTRIA / SWITZERLAND / FINLAND: Friday, November 07, 2014.
UK / BENELUX / FRANCE / GREECE / DENMARK / PORTUGAL / NORWAY / REST OF EUROPE: Monday, November 10, 2014.
ITALY / SPAIN / POLAND: Tuesday, November 11, 2014.
SWEDEN: Wednesday, November 12, 2014.
AUSTRALIA / NEW ZEALAND: Friday, November 14, 2014.
NORTH AMERICA: Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Now, the atmospheric video clip directed by Stefan Daniels for the song "1979" has been launched online at the following location: http://youtu.be/QiZh2fh_1Rk

Pain of Salvation's Daniel Gildenlöw has checked in as follows about the clip:
"We had the greatest time shooting this video. We went up north to an old fisher village where Johanna's family has rented old fisher cabins in the summers since her father was a little child. I have spent time there with her since we met twenty years ago and I love the place. No phones, no television, just the ocean and nature and these old cabins. It seemed the perfect place to shoot the video for '1979.' So, we spent a few days there, the entire band with families and Johanna's sisters and their families, and we just had a wonderful time together. I remember standing in the store Googling beer brands to find out which bottles had remained most the same since the 70s, hahaha.

We had many scripted scenes that we shot but that never ended up in the final video - some nude bathing and Ragnar jumping into the water with his clothes on from a row boat. In the end Stefan Daniels (the director) decided to go with the small gestures and made Sandrian and his kite be the heart of the video, which was a perfect decision.

My favorite clips are probably the ones at the breakfast table in the cabin and the one in front of the cinema, simply because, to me, they capture the air of the late 70s so perfectly, as I knew them. It almost hurts to watch those clips, and I'm close to tearing up every time. My intellect knows perfectly well that these are new recordings, but my heart connects at a split second and breaks from the loss of an era."

An audio stream of the track can be heard here:

Previously, "Linoleum" was launched online as first promotional taster for "Falling Home" here:
https://soundcloud.com/officialinsideoutmusic/pain-of-salvation-linoleum-album-track/

Pain of Salvation's Daniel Gildenlöw has checked in about the "Falling Home" release as follows:
"Damn, it will be so nice finally to have this album see the light of day in a context larger than my head, our rehearsing room and a multitude of work computers and hard drives in selected homes. It has been a long time, and the road to release has been very complicated and unexpected, including finding myself in hospital for four entire months after a close call with flesh eating bacteria. Who would have guessed as we set out to record a quick little acoustic something all those many months ago in what seems like another lifetime by now? On the other hand, it has turned this album into so much more than we ever expected it to be. I find the term "acoustic album" very misleading. This album is as bold a statement as any of our albums, and will in the same way offer laughter, tears, surprises and challenges. If it's not original, if it's not uncompromisingly passionate, then it's not Pain of Salvation."

"Falling Home" is a very special album, which contains reimagined versions of favorite catalog songs, two cover versions ("Holy Diver" by Dio and "Perfect Day" by Lou Reed) and a brand new song (The title track, "Falling Home"). Here is the track-listing for the US version of the release:

Pain of Salvation - "Falling Home":
1. Stress
2. Linoleum
3. To the Shoreline
4. Holy Diver (Dio Cover)
5. 1979
6. She Likes to Hide (Bonus Physical-only Track)
7. Chain Sling
8. Perfect Day (Lou Reed Cover)
9. Spitfall
10. Mrs. Modern Mother Mary
11. Flame to the Moth
12. King of Loss (Bonus Physical-only Track)
13. Falling Home

Next to the Jewel Case CD and the Digital Download formats, "Falling Home" will be also available in Europe as limited edition Digipak CD with expanded artwork and two bonustracks ("She Likes To Hide" and "King Of Loss") and also as limited Gatefold LP version on 180gr. vinyl (On black vinyl, but also 200x copies on white vinyl exclusively from the IOM Webshop).

United Progressive Fraternity sign to InsideOutMusic for debut album
European tour starts September

InsideOutMusic are very pleased to announce the signing of United Progressive Fraternity for the release of their debut album 'Fall In Love With The World' this November. Formed from the ashes of respected Australian progressive rockers Unitopia, the band sees Matt Williams, Dave Hopgood, Tim Irrgang & Mark 'Truey' Trueack joined by Guy Manning (Manning, The The Tangent), Daniel Mash (Maschine, The Tangent), & Marek Arnold. The band had this to say about the signing & tour:

'We are absolutely thrilled to be signed to such a prestigious label as InsideOut and look forward to a long & fruitful partnership in the future. We are very proud of what we have achieved with the making of this, the debut album from UPF.   Everyone has worked incredibly hard to bring it together, and while the road we travelled to get here was a real challenge, the journey has been worth every step.   We have strived to create a richer, bolder, grittier sound trying to evolve a little more, and we truly believe we have succeeded in this. But none of it would have been possible without the commitment, passion and belief in the vision of the Fraternity, of every member of the band and the newly formed UPF family so now....we really are, all parts of the whole!!

We are very excited to be taking UPF to the road with our Promotional UK/European tour in Autumn, kicking off at the 2014 Summers End X Festival where we have the prime Saturday night spot on 27th September. We will be playing tracks from the new album and Unitopia fans will not be disappointed as we will be playing selected favourites from the Unitopia back catalogue. We are very much looking forward to all playing live together for the very first time! We intend to give our audience a musical journey they will not forget and hope that they too, will not just fall in love with our music but fall in love with the world!'

The band will embark on their first live dates later this year, starting with Summer's End Festival in the UK and continuing into Europe in October. The full list of dates can be found below:

Devin Townsend launches ZTV and new Ziltoid site

Devin Townsend launches ZTV
and new Ziltoid site

Devin Townsend has announced the launch of ZTV, a brand new video series starring the inimitable Ziltoid, as well as a brand new interactive site dedicated to him. Following on from the announcement of the double-album, which is due for release on the 27th October 2014 in Europe and 28th October 2014 in the US, the newest glimpse into the Ziltoid story can be viewed here:
www.ziltoid.com

Devin had this to say: Hey guys! Devin here... been a few weeks since the Z2 album was delivered, and we've been getting everything ready for the upcoming tours and the release of the records. As I've mentioned, Z2 is an experiment for me in trying different mediums to illustrate a concept, and as such...I'm really excited to present to you the new Ziltoid website, and the first of three ZTV episodes leading up to the album release! The crowd-funding campaign has allowed me to actualize Ziltoid and its music in ways I'd always hoped for, and the idea with the three web episodes is to set up the concept of the album. This first one is less over the top than it gets by episode three, but it needs to establish the whole story before it gets more absurd. It is a great pleasure to be able to do this, and was an awesome experience (other than having to explain to management and family why I spent so much money on puppets =)
Thank you for the support and allowing me to continue =)
Devin
