MORE DETAILS REVEALED FOR STEVE HACKETT'S
"GENESIS REVISITED II" - 2-CD SET TO BE RELEASED IN NORTH AMERICA OCTOBER 22ND VIA INSIDEOUT MUSIC

(New York, NY) - More details have been revealed about Steve Hackett's forthcoming album GENESIS REVISITED II, which will be released on 22nd October via InsideOut Music.  Reinterpreting Genesis classics from the period dearest to him, the "golden era" 1971-1977, Hackett is the first ex-member to re-record and tour that part of the band's material. While he made sure the spirit of the timeless originals stayed intact, he enlisted the help of 35 special guests to provide the songs with a new unique edge.

The star-studded line-up includes respected vocalists Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth), Simon Collins (Phil Collins' son), Amanda Lehmann, Conrad Keely, Francis Dunnery, Neal Morse, John Wetton, Nad Sylvan and Nik Kershaw.  Steve Rothery of Marillion and Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings and Transatlantic join in to share guitar duties, while Jeremy Stacey and Gary O'Toole are amongst the chosen drummers.  "It's a project of Wagnerian proportions!" Hackett commented. "For the most part I've followed the arrangements we had first time around, but each vocalist has added their own character."  Please see below for the complete track listing.  GENESIS REVISITED II will be available as a 2 disc digipak.  An extensive world tour in support of the new album will be announced shortly.

In 2010, Steve Hackett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame at The 25th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony alongside his Genesis bandmates from the classic line-up: Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.  For more than three decades, Steve Hackett has been known for his innovative tone and extraordinary versatility as a guitarist and composer.  He helped define Genesis' sound as lead guitarist in the classic line-up and went on to have a highly-successful career as a solo artist, and also as part of 80s supergroup GTR with Steve Howe.

RUSH's 'Clockwork Angels: The Novel' Lands On The New York Times Best Sellers List

"Clockwork Angels: The Novel" (ECW Press), the landmark literary collaboration between RUSH drummer and lyricist Neil Peart and bestselling sci-fi author Kevin J. Anderson, has landed at position No. 18 on The New York Times "Hardcover Fiction" best sellers list.

The book's first chapter is now available on RollingStone.com.

Speaking to SciFiPulse.Net, Anderson stated about how the novelization came to life, "Neil and I discussed the story of the album as he developed the songs, and
so the plot came together as the lyrics were finished. I read the song
lyrics as he completed them, but the last pieces didn't gel until I
heard the rough mixes of the songs, music and words (back in February).
Then I started writing."

He added, "[The novel and the album] are
independent. You can enjoy the novel fully without listening to the
album, even if you're not a RUSH fan. But if you are a RUSH fan, you've probably already heard the CD. I think you can hear the CD a couple of times, and play it while you're readeing the novel. The two
should be greater than the sum of the parts."

Regarding the book cover, which was created by artist Hugh Syme, Anderson said, "Hugh contributed tremendously; he read parts of the drafts and found focal
points that I hadn’t seen (he was the one who picked up on the honeybee
as a perfect symbol for the Watchmaker). Hugh was doing the
illustrations for the songs, which appear in the CD booklet, as we were
drafting the novel, so each image gave inspiration and setting for the
scene. And then as we gave him drafts of certain scenes, he created new
art exclusive to the book–particularly the clockwork gypsy, the alchemy
college and the steamliner scoutship. Hugh and I worked together
to crate a beautiful booklet to accompany the unabridged audiobook from
Brilliance. I should also note the additional cool thing: Neil narrates the audiobook himself."

MIKE PORTNOY, BILLY SHEEHAN, TONY MACALPINE, DEREK SHERINIAN To Play One-Off U.S. Show

Drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD), bassist Billy Sheehan (STEVE VAI, DAVID LEE ROTH), guitarist Tony MacAlpine (neo classical-metal style, STEVE VAI) and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, PLANET X, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION) will join forces this fall, embarking on an extended tour of Europe and Asia. The virtuoso band will play an all-instrumental set consisting of material from each of their solo records and their previous
collaborations as well as classic instrumental covers and extended solo
spots.

Prior to the European/Asian trek, the group will play a
one-off U.S. show on November 18 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in
New York City

Tickets for the concert go on sale this Friday, September 21 at 10 a.m.

Portnoy formed the lineup to perfom at two drum events at the NAMM show last January (footage below). Due to overwhelming response, that band has decided to take their show on the road.

"I
knew when assembling this lineup that it would be a magical musical
experience that would be a blast for us as well as the fans! I can't
wait to play again with these tremendous musicians and share the
experience with you all at these special shows!" says Portnoy.
