Scott Henderson Live 2016 dates and the new album

SCOTT HENDERSON's brand new studio album "Vibe Station"

Scott Henderson's impressive work over the years as co-leader of the group TRIBAL TECH, leader of his own ground breaking trio, and sideman to some of the best jazz artists of their generation, including the great Joe Zawinul, has elevated him to the front ranks of both Jazz and Blues. Besides being a world class player and premier composer, Scott's trademark is his beautiful tone and striking ability to blend Blues, Rock, Funk, and Jazz, creating a soulful and unique voice on the guitar.

"Henderson wreaks havoc on his guitar amid howling bottleneck notes, multihued chord voicings and ungodly hype-mode licks atop the rhythm section's slamming grooves and agile progressions. He often harmonizes with bassist Travis Carlton and during a variety of movements the trio summons an Armageddon with supple and heightening choruses within the prog-metal domain." - Glenn Astarita, All About Jazz

"Vibe Station reminds us once again of what an unbelievable talent Scott Henderson truly is. If you haven't yet discovered the genius of this remarkable guitar player, now is the perfect time to do so." - Peter Pardo, Sea Of Tranquility

Guitarist Scott Henderson's 5th solo project exhibits elements of jazz, rock & blues, but has a bigger variety of textures and tones. The new all instrumental CD features bassist Travis Carlton (son of Larry) & drummer extraordinaire Alan Hertz. Henderson speaks of the new work as the most challenging project of his career. Says Scott, “I'm really excited about this record because our trio has been touring a lot and that energy came through on all the performances. The music is still blues-based, but also has a lot of harmonic content. The big change is no vocals, which challenged me as a guitarist to write material which can be played in a vocal way on the guitar, while incorporating my own chord-melody style. I think fans will enjoy the scope of this record because it has elements of blues, rock, jazz and funk. There's something for everyone here.” Scott also said that the majority of the songs are layered with multi guitar tracks, utilizing many different guitars, pedals, amps and speaker combinations, making it the most textural and versatile sounding album he's ever done. Travis Carlton on bass and Alan Hertz on drums make this project and live show very much groove-based. Says Scott, “I need to see people moving in their seats. I'm not interested on putting on an intellectual show for musicians only. I don't believe I need to dumb down the music to appeal to people who aren't musicians, because when Travis and Alan play together, the groove is going to attack you whether you're a musician or not”.

Spock's Beard reveal 'Tides of Time'; first track from 'The Oblivion Particle'

Legendary progressive-rockers Spock's Beard recently announced that their brand new 12th studio album 'The Oblivion Particle' is set for release on August 21st, 2015, and now they are pleased to reveal the first track to be taken from the record.

Fans can listen to the song 'Tides of Time' over at Soundcloud for 7 days here: https://soundcloud.com/officialinsideoutmusic/spocks-beard-tides-of-time/s-80IYe

Dave Meros previously said of the track: "I think the opening track 'Tides of Time' is classic Spock's in terms of arrangement and style, but everything else is fairly different. That said, the whole album is still within the parameters of what people expect to hear from us."

The band also recently announced European tour dates in support of the album. The band will be joined by young UK act Synaesthesia and Hungarian band Special Providence.

The full list of dates are as follows:
16.09 - Spirit of 66, Verviers, Belgium
17.09 - De Boerderij, Zoetermeer, Netherlands
18.09 - Framus & Warwick Music Hall, Markneukirchen, Germany
19.09 - Progresja, Warschau, Poland
20.09 - Metro Club, Brno, Czech Republic
21.09 - Ship A38, Budapest, Hungary
23.09 - Legend, Milan, Italy
24.09 - Kantine, Augsburg, Germany
25.09 - Sudhaus, Tübingen, Germany
26.09 - Alte Seilerei, Mannheim, Germany
27.09 - Essigfabrik, Köln, Germany
29.09 - Rescue Rooms, Nottingham, UK
30.09 - Assembly, Leamington Spa, UK
1.10 - The Classic Grand, Glasgow, UK
2.10 - O2 Academy Islington, London, UK
3.10 - Club Academy, Manchester, UK

Spock's Beard's forthcoming new studio album The Oblivion Particle is the follow-up to 2013's Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep. The album finds the band answering the needs of their creations by utilizing the considerable versatility of each member. In addition to Ted Leonard's soaring vocals and Dave Meros' distinctive bass, Alan Morse adds autoharp, banjolele, electric sitar and mandolin to his array of instruments, drummer Jimmy Keegan takes over lead vocals on "Bennett Built a Time Machine" and Ryo expands his arsenal of keyboard sounds throughout the album. In addition, virtuoso Kansas violinist David Ragsdale lends his touch to the album's majestic closer, "Disappear."

As with the previous album Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep, The Oblivion Particle was recorded at The Mouse House and produced by Rich Mouser, Alan Morse and John Boegehold, a band collaborator of many years.

Nad Sylvan signs to InsideOutMusic for new solo album

InsideOutMusic are pleased to welcome Steve Hackett and Agents of Mercy vocalist Nad Sylvan to their roster, for his forthcoming solo album which is due out in October. Nad comments: "Finally, after 40 years of fighting for it, I get a first class record deal".

Nad has most recently been seen performing alongside the legendary Steve Hackett as part of his Genesis Revisited show, continuing his stint into the latter part of this year. Nad adds: "In a little less than four years, I was snatched up by two iconic guitarists,
namely Roine Stolt and then Steve Hackett. That must mean something to the world, because it sure means an awful lot to me". Nad formed Agents of Mercy with Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings, Transatlantic) in 2009, and have released three albums to date.

Tim Bowness launches stream of 'Sing To Me'

Tim Bowness is set to release his third solo album, 'Stupid Things That Mean The World' on July 17th 2015 (EU) and July 24th 2015 (US) and is now pleased to reveal another new track to be taken from the record. 'Sing To Me' can be heard here:

Tim had this to say about the track and its origins:
"Originally a No-Man demo called Best Boy Electric*, I heard this for the first time in over 20 years when Steven Wilson sent it to me in October 2014 for consideration for the reissue of no-man's Lost Songs album.

I'd completely forgotten the song, and on hearing it again couldn't believe we'd not pursued it further. The No-Man version was skeletal with an improvised, incomplete lyric, but on re-hearing the song in 2014, it felt special to me and I knew where I'd like to take it musically. A new lyric was written as were a couple of new instrumental themes.

One of my favourite songs on the album, it reminds me of aspects of the early no-man that I loved, while also feeling very much a part of the music I'm currently making."

* The original No-Man demo appears on the bonus disc of Stupid Things That Mean The World.

A lyric video for the previously released track 'Press Reset' can be found here:

Tim also recently announced the first live dates in support of the album, and you can find them below:
25th August - The Louisiana, Bristol, UK
26th August - Boston Music Room, London, UK
29th August - Ino Rock Festival, Poland

A year on from the acclaimed Abandoned Dancehall Dreams, Bowness returns with this powerful and eclectic new record, and recently he revealed the first track to be taken from it. 'The Great Electric Teenage Dream' is the opening cut from the album, and you can watch the video here:

Produced by Bowness and mixed by The Pineapple Thief's Bruce Soord (who also adds some choice guitar parts), 'Stupid Things That Mean The World' features a core of Bowness along with members of the No-Man live band (Stephen Bennett, Michael Bearpark, Andrew Booker) and Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), augmented by contributions from Peter Hammill, Phil Manzanera, Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson), Anna Phoebe, David Rhodes (Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Scott Walker), and Rhys Marsh. As on Abandoned Dancehall Dreams, Classical composer Andrew Keeling, best known for his work with The Hilliard Ensemble, Evelyn Glennie and Robert Fripp, provides striking string arrangements. The album was mastered by The Pineapple Thief's Steve Kitch.

The beautiful artwork for the album was once again done by I Monster's Jarrod Gosling, and you can see that below. The album will be available as Double CD Media book featuring a companion disc of alternate mixes and demos (including an unreleased No-Man demo from 1994), as well as a gatefold vinyl LP with CD & digital download.

Abandoned Dancehall Dreams was released last year to critical acclaim, with Classic Rock calling it a 'cinematic, contemporary classic' and Prog Magazine naming it 'arch art-progger Bowness's masterpiece.' The album also reached the top 20 of the UK rock album charts upon release, and was subsequently included in Prog Magazine's critics' choice top 20 of 2014.

Tim Bowness is primarily known as vocalist/co-writer with the band No-Man, a long-running collaboration with Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree). In addition to releasing six studio albums and a documentary DVD with No-Man, Tim has worked with popular Italian artist Alice, Robert Fripp, Hugh Hopper (Soft Machine), OSI and Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera (amongst many others), and is a member of the bands Henry Fool and Memories Of Machines.
