Sylvan - Title Track from
'Courting The Widow' launched |
Nad Sylvan,
vocalist with Steve Hackett and Agents Of Mercy, is set to release his new
solo album titled 'Courting The Widow' on October 16th, 2015 in Europe and
October 30th,2015 in the US. He is now pleased to reveal the brilliant title
track of the album,
which you can hear now here:
Nad had this to say on the track:
"This was the hardest song for me to complete. I
began writing it right before my mother passed away, and it took a while to
gather the strength to finish it off. The last sentence of the lyric is
actually about her and me, so it was a soul cleansing experience. The idea of
the widow emerged from the loss, as she becomes a symbol of death for the
whole album".
The full track-listing is as follows:
1.Carry Me Home
2.Courting The Widow
3.Echoes Of Ekwabet
4.To Turn The Other Side
5.Ship's Cat
6.The Killing Of The Calm
7.Where The Martyr Carved His Name
8.Long Slow Crash Landing
Nad had this to say about the album: "During
these past years with Steve Hackett, I have developed a character known as
the "Vampirate". I have here set him loose, and so he has invited
you all on-board his great ship, to take you on a musical journey
you have never been on before.
The main character - the widow herself, is a symbol of
death - and is to be courted through every song, one way or another. It is
indeed a dark album, but full of loving light"
Nad has most recently been seen performing alongside the
legendary Steve Hackett as part of his Genesis Revisited show, continuing his
stint into the latter part of this year. Nad adds: "In a little less
than four years, I was snatched up by two iconic guitarists,
namely Roine Stolt and then Steve Hackett. That must mean
something to the world, because it sure means an awful lot to me". Nad
formed Agents of Mercy with Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings, Transatlantic) in
2009, and have released three albums to date.
Nad is currently on tour with Steve Hackett, and the full

Caligula's Horse releases 'Marigold' from forthcoming album
'Bloom', the highly anticipated new album from Australian Progressive
Alternative Rock group Caligula's Horse, is set for release on October 16th in
EU & October 30th, 2015 in US on InsideOutMusic. In advance of the album's
release, the band is pleased to present 'Marigold', an exhilarating full-length
track from the new record, premiering exclusively at Revolver.
"'Marigold' captures the essence of 'Bloom' to me. The
pure energy and vibrant colour, and the powerful, uplifting message that a
person can not be judged by what they earn, or what they own, but by those they
love, and those that love them", says lead vocalist Jim Grey. "In
that respect, I am a wealthy, wealthy man. This song is very important to me on
a personal level."
'Bloom' will be available as Limited Edition Digipak CD,
Vinyl LP with CD included & digital download (incl. one exclusive bonus
track).
The album is available for pre-order here:
The full track-listing can be found below:
1. Bloom
2.Marigold
3.Firelight
4.Dragonfly
5.Rust
6.Turntail
7.Daughter Of The Mountain
8.Undergrowth
The band have posted a special video message, telling you a
little bit about the album and introducing the band:
'Bloom' follows 2011's colourful and dynamic debut 'Moments
From Ephemeral City', and 2013's critically acclaimed dark narrative concept
album 'The Tide, the Thief & River's End', an album that Metal Obsession
hailed as 'nearly perfect'.
"'Bloom' is very special to all of us - it's an album
full of colour and life, vibrancy and energy, but one that breathes in and out
with a natural ebb and flow," says lead vocalist Jim Grey. "It's exactly
what we hoped to achieve with Caligula's
Horse. To us, this album has
a life of its own."
Equal parts grandiose and crushing, melodic and energetic,
enjoy the first taste of Caligula's Horse's third record
'Bloom' right this moment.
Check out a trailer for the album here: https://youtu.be/3iwexAFmZuQ
Having secured deals with The Agency Group for live
bookings, and signing an international record deal with lauded prog/metal label
InsideOut Music (home to Devin Townsend, Spock's Beard and Pain of Salvation),
the band will tour Australia with UK metal heroes TesseracT this October,
before embarking on an extensive month-long tour of Europe and the UK with
Norwegian blackjazz innovators Shining.
Caligula's Horse are known for their energetic live show and
fierce stage presence, a quality that has seen them join the likes of Opeth,
Mastodon, The Ocean and Protest The Hero on the stage and the road. This kind
of intense touring regime will see them right at home.

WORLD-RENOWNED
GUITARIST/COMPOSER STEVE
HACKETT RETURNS
TO NORTH AMERICA WITH
THE
"FROM ACOLYTE TO WOLFLIGHT" TOUR 2015
SET TO INCLUDE HACKETT
SOLO MATERIAL AS WELL AS GENESIS
CLASSICS AND AS-OF-YET
UNPERFORMED GENESIS SONGS
(New York, NY) - World-renowned
guitarist/composer Steve Hackett will soon return to North America with
his band for the "From Acolyte to Wolflight" tour 2015. In
celebration of his latest solo album, WOLFLIGHT and the 40th
anniversary of the release of his first solo album, VOYAGE OF THE ACOLYTE, this
tour will feature a unique blend of Hackett solo material and Genesis
classics, including as-of-yet unperformed Genesis material. The first
half of the show will focus on Hackett's solo material, while the second half
will highlight Genesis songs. Along with such superb pieces as "Ace
Of Wands," "Spectral Mornings" and songs from WOLFLIGHT, Hackett
will conclude his two and a half hour show with Genesis material that was not
part of his recent GENESIS REVISITED and GENESIS EXTENDED tours in 2013 and
2014. Epic songs including "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway," The
Cinema Show," "Can-Utility," "Hairless Heart" and
"The Musical Box" will be performed.
Of the "From Acolyte To Wolflight"
tour, Steve Hackett commented, "The tour in Europe has so
far gone down a storm, with fantastic reactions to both my new and classic
material as well as Genesis numbers not played for many years such as 'Cinema
Show' and 'Lamb Lies Down On Broadway'...I'm so looking forward to bringing
this new show to North America!" Hackett will be joined
on the tour by his incredible band: Roger King (keyboards), Gary O'Toole (drums
and percussion), Rob Townsend (saxophones and flutes), Roine Stolt (bass and
guitars) and Nad Sylvan (vocals). Please see below for tour dates.
Steve Hackett's
latest solo album, WOLFLIGHT (InsideOut Music) explores a new chapter in Hackett's
career. The tracks take the listener through a journey in space and time
looking at the different faces of the endless fight for freedom. Wandering
between parallel universes, Hackett explores contemporary and ancient
cultures, from Greece ("Corycian Fire") to the Far East
("Wolflight"), the United States and Martin Luther King ("Black
Thunder"), and also his very own childhood memories ("The Wheel's
Turning") and the unresolved drama of domestic violence ("Love Song
To A Vampire"). The video for the title track can be seen here.
In 2010, Steve Hackett was inducted
into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame at The 25th Annual Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony alongside his Genesis bandmates from the
classic line-up: Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike
Rutherford. For more than three decades, Steve Hackett has been
known for his innovative tone and extraordinary versatility as a guitarist and
composer. He helped define Genesis' sound as lead guitarist in the
classic line-up and went on to have a highly-successful career as a solo
artist, and also as part of 80s supergroup GTR with Steve Howe.
