John Ford of the Strawbs w/ Special Guest Ian Lloyd of Stories To Perform In New York 3/22

Multi-Platinum British Singer/Songwriter, John Ford of the Strawbs (The Monks UK, Hudson Ford, FORD/LLOYD, Space Drama) is "Back by Popular Demand!" in Concert with Special Guest: Ian Lloyd of Stories at Port Washington Public Library – Latham Auditorium on Friday, March 22, 2013, beginning 7:30 pm. Seating is limited to 160! Free Admission for All Ages! PWPL is located at One Library Dr., Port Washington, NY 11050 Phone: 516.883.4400 www.pwpl.org

This will be a truly special concert! John Ford has a few very special
highlights planned for both sets of the Live@PWPL performance. Ford plans to pay tribute, in part of first set, to one of his favourite early influences and icons -- British band, The Shadows (pre- Sir Cliff Richard), along with a nod to American instrumental band, The Ventures ("Walk, Don't Run"). For this rare occasion, Ford lets out all stops, and takeover playing lead guitar with his blue Fender Stratocaster which up to now, has never seen the light of day (or
night) outside his studio – reserved only for his recordings. In addition to Ford's originals and Top of the Pops classics from Strawbs, The Monks and Hudson Ford -- Ford will pepper the sets with new surprises throughout the show.

John Ford will have Special Guest, Ian Lloyd of Stories in tow, to perform some new material from their FORD/ LLOYD duo band project, including a new original, "Sandy," written by Ford, being dedicated to victims and survivors of Hurricane Sandy in the North Eastern US. This will be recorded and videotaped for a music video and live version of the song, with audience members welcome to
participate. Ian Lloyd will be doing a few numbers of his own with his own bandmates, sure to please fans! John Ford and Ian Lloyd will be available later for a Meet & Greet and autograph signing.

Ian Lloyd is best known for his #1 world-wide hit, "Brother Louie," with Stories. Lloyd can be heard singing "Brother Louie" chorus on FX's Louie C.K. hit comedy series theme song. Lloyd's trademark vocals heard on many YES, Foreigner and Billy Joel albums; and recently featured on NBC's recent SNL aka Lorne Michael's Saturday Night Live comedy show skit on Steven Spielberg's new Lincoln documentary film, with actor/comedian, Louie C.K. doing his own take on Abraham Lincoln's character, aside hosting the show.

If this weren't enough excitement… this year marks the 40th Anniversary of multi-platinum hit, "Part of the Union," Ford wrote whilst with the Strawbs which also was the band's biggest chart topper at #2 for 52 weeks. 2013, also marking the 41st Anniversary of the Strawbs' award winning album, Bursting At The Seams which John Ford also appears on. Last year, Ford received a Double Platinum Award from EMI for The Monks' Bad Habits album whilst in Toronto, Canada for sellout, The Monks' Bad Habits Tribute Show produced by Thom D'Arcy at The Horseshoe Tavern.
