DEEP PURPLE: 'Behind The Music Remastered' To Premiere On VH1 CLASSIC Tonight

An updated version of VH1's "Behind The Music" documentary on DEEP PURPLE, "Behind The Music Remastered: Deep Purple", will premiere on VH1 Classic in the U.S. on Saturday, April 27 at 9:00 p.m. EST.

Show description: "DEEP PURPLE were true rock 'n' roll: outrageous, bold, daring. Despite their limited success with the American mainstream, DEEP PURPLE fans define the band as being one of the most important rock groups in music. They join BLACK SABBATH and LED ZEPPELIN in being one of the pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal, and their
memorable riffs and classic songs are still in the hearts of metal fans
today. METALLICA's Lars Ulrich, bandmembers Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse, Glenn Hughes, and many more lend their voice to tell the story of this epic rock band."

A preview clip from "Behind The Music Remastered: Deep Purple" can be seen below.

"Now What?!", the 19th studio album from DEEP PURPLE, will be released next week via earMUSIC, the Hamburg, Germany-based international rock label which is part of Edel Group.

"Now What?!" will also be released in a limited quantity with a bonus track and a bonus DVD featuring DEEP PURPLE in conversation plus additional audio material. This edition will be available in a digipak with a cut out front cover. "Now What?!" will also be released as double vinyl LP containing a bonus track, as in the limited-edition CD.

After various songwriting sessions in Europe, the band recorded and mixed the album in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, PINK FLOYD, PETER GABRIEL, ALICE COOPER, KANSAS). The CD contain 11 tracks, including "Out Of Hand", "Weirdistan", "Uncommon Man" and "Above And Beyond". The latter song references the band's late keyboard player, Jon Lord, in the lyric "Souls having touched are forever entwined."
