LACUNA COIL have officially
begun work on their upcoming new studio album, the highly-anticipated
follow-up to 'Dark Adrenaline,' which was released in January 2012 and saw
the band tour North America not only as headliners, but also on support runs
with MEGADETH, MOTORHEAD and VOLBEAT, then SEVENDUST and COAL CHAMBER.
Joining LACUNA COIL in Italy
to record the album is acclaimed producer Jay Baumgardner, whose credits
include P.O.D., SEVENDUST, EVANESCENCE, PAPA ROACH, OTHERWISE and more.
Says frontwoman Cristina
Scabbia of the new album: "I am so excited to work on new stuff...
I am sure a lot of people will be mesmerized by the cinematic vibe of the new
album that's underway. I'm very happy to have the chance to work with Jay.
Not only is he a pro in what he does, but I am just loving the fact we are
going to experiment with new sounds and are getting a different point of view
about our art. We're swamped with the music already... LACUNA COIL is back
baby!!!"
Adds frontman Andrea
Ferro: "We met Jay a few years ago in L.A. and had a really
positive feeling about him, as he has produced and mixed some of my favourite
records and some very relevant rock/metal albums. We have decided to work
with him, because he has the ability to work together with the band towards a
common vision without driving the band away from their sound. In the
studio there is the right energy that allows common people to achieve
uncommon results!"
The band plans on completing
the recording process before embarking on the upcoming "Tragic
Illusion Tour" in Europe, which will celebrate Paradise Lost's
25th anniversary as a band. The tour kicks off October 30 in
Wolverhampton, UK, and concludes November 13 in Solothurn, Switzerland.
From January 26-30, 2014,
LACUNA COIL will set sail on the SHIPROCKED cruise out
of Miami, FL, to Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. They will join a lineup
that includes FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, PAPA ROACH, THREE DAYS GRACE, DEVICE,
SEVENDUST, Century Media label mates IN THIS MOMENT, BUTCHER BABIES and many
more.
