Grey Lady Down Reforms

Seminal 90s prog band Grey Lady Down have reformed after a ten year hiatus. The band, whose members have gone on to grace such prominent prog outfits as IQ, Darwin’s Radio, Thieves’ Kitchen and Sphere3, will be playing a number of high profile shows throughout the UK during 2011. Ideas for a new album, which would be the band’s 5th studio release, are being explored for release in due course.
The line-up is a 6 piece featuring both former guitarists Julian Hunt and Steve Anderson, along with the addition of new recruit Piers de Lavison on keyboards. The band is completed by ever-presents Martin Wilson on vocals and Sean Spear on bass along with original drummer Mark Robotham.
Further details are available on the band's new website at www.greyladydown.net, and also at www.facebook.com/greyladydown
The first gig will be on Saturday June 4th at Mattfest, which takes place at famed prog venue The Peel at 160 Cambridge Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 3HH. Doors are at 1pm, GLD will be on stage at around 6pm, and the line up is completed by From Great Height, Unto Us, Nerve Toy Trio, Alan Reed (ex Pallas) and Touchstone. Advance tickets are now available on 0208 546 3516 at £20. Full details can be found on Facebook at Mattfest

There has been some questions about availability of the GLD back catalogue. CDs remain in very short supply (with the exception of 'Star-Crossed' which is freely available) the band is considering the possibility of reissuing these in due course. However, the good news is that all of the studio albums have now been submitted via CD Baby which means they should appear on all the major download sites such as iTunes for the first time.
In other news, Martin and Steve are involved in another project called TheRoom. Full details are available at www.theroom.eu, and you can add yourself to their mailing list by contacting them at info@theroom.eu
Piers, meanwhile, continues to tour with well known Genesis tribute act G2. Further information can be obtained from www.g2online.co.uk or at www.facebook.com/g2definitivegenesis
